GLOBAL ALERT! MICROBES AT WORK, ARE WE READY?
The Cluster I of the Philippine Society for Microbiology Inc. in cooperation with Miriam College will be hosting a symposium entitled: GLOBAL ALERT! MICROBES AT WORK, ARE WE READY? on November 7, 2009 at the Paz Adriano Hall, Miriam College in Quezon City from 9:00-4:00 pm.
The symposium aims to heighten awareness, increase vigilance and most importantly, educate people in order to address the growing and global effects of microbes. In addition, the symposium will showcase viruses of public health concern in our country.
Respected speakers from various institutions will be sharing their expertise regarding the epidemiology, current trends and research as well as management issues concerning animal and human viral diseases. Invited speakers include:
- Dr. Veronica Chan of Emilio Aguinaldo College-Manila;
- Dr. Lyndon Lee-Suy of the National Center for Disease Prevention and Control;
- Dr. Emelinda Lopez of the Animal Health Division; and
- Miss Edelwissa S. Mercado of the Research Institute for Tropical medicine (RITM).
Pre-registration shall be until October 15, 2009 and on-site registration starts from 7:30am to 8:30am.(MMP)
